AFP Transformers, LLC, offers a wide variety
of custom engineered and manufactured magnetics for diverse applications.
You will find AFP Transformers most competitive in transformer
sizes of 2 KVA through 10 MVA and inductor sizes of 5 Amps through
2000 Amps. Some of our custom engineered designs can be as simple
as modifications to our standard product offerings; or they can
be as complex as multi-secondary output transformer to replace
the function of two or more devices in a control system. These
custom products incorporate either dry-type or cast coil construction
technology.
Custom transformers (also known as specialty
transformers) are often essential components for electrical systems
that are fulfilling diverse and complicated functions themselves
in the manufacturing, research, medical care or defense industries,
to name a few. AFPs engineers regularly design isolation
and autotransformers with special features such as multiple input
or output taps, multiple secondary windings, harmonic compensated
(K-factor rated), multiple operating frequency spectrums and unique
impedance levels. In addition to the magnetic components, we also
incorporate custom enclosure configurations to match our customers
space and environmental concerns.
Some of AFPs "standard" custom
engineered products are:
- Control Power Transformers (CPTs)
for low voltage and medium voltage applications;
- Drive Isolation Transformers (DITs)
for low and medium voltage applications;
- Autotransformers (also known
as "buck-boost transformers") for simple voltage conversion
applications;
- K-factor Transformers (rated
at K1, K4, K7, K13, K20 and K30 ratings) for transformer applications
where harmonics are a concern;
- Zig-Zag Transformers and Phase-Shifting
Transformers for applications that require multi-phase
outputs for harmonic mitigation or creating a stable neutral
grounding connection point;
- Chokes / Inductors / Reactors
used in AC or DC filter applications or to add impedance into
a circuit;
- Rectifier Transformers for
creating DC bus levels needed for applications in the drive,
heating or traction industries;
- Scott-T and LaBlanc configured
Transformers to efficiently convert 3-phase power to 2-phase
power;
- Contactor Coil assemblies
for medium voltage contactors
- Saturable Reactors used to
control a large amount of current with a minimal DC power source;
- Plate Transformers used to
supply high voltages for tube excitation and ion implantation
devices;
- Medium Voltage Fuse Holder Assemblies
Regardless of what your power distribution application
demands are, AFPs broad product offerings and experience
makes us your logical transformer solution partner.
